Accessories Needed

for the Snow Making Process

  • Pressure Washer: Preferably electric, that will generate a minimum output of 1.4 GPM (gallons per minute) at 1500-1600 psi (pounds per square inch). An electric pressure washer is recommended due to noise issues, plus re-fueling will not be required as in gasoline powered washers.
  • Air Compressor: An air compressor, preferably electric, oil lubricated, that will deliver between 4-5 cfm (cubic feet per minute) at 90 psi. This data is usually tagged somewhere on the compressor. It is imperative that the compressor be oil lubricated since it will run almost constantly.
  • Air Hose & Fittings: Air hose 1/4″ in diameter (standard) is available at most retail building supplies or hardware stores. The hose must be rated at ( 200) psi minimum. Length required depends on the proximity of compressor to the snow gun. Fittings for “quick connects” from the air compressor to the snow gun can usually be purchased along with the hose supplier.
  • High Pressure Water Hose: (1/4″) Hose can usually be purchased at most retail building supplies or hardware stores that sell pressure washers. Hose must be rated for at least 1500 psi. or whatever the rating is for pressure washer to be used. The hose that is supplied will not work since it usually has a wand attached . Fittings required will vary due to different models of pressure washers, but can usually be found at plumbing suppliers. Fittings must be chosen to match the threaded connection at the pressure washer discharge and at the high pressure connection on the snow gun. It is recommended that the assembled gun be taken to suppliers for proper fittings.
  • Water Supply: Normally, water can be supplied through a common 5/8″ water hose to the pressure washer. Other sources, such as well pumps or reservoirs such as creeks or lakes, can also be utilized. It is recommended that potable water through a typical outdoor hose bib be used in order to reduce debris from entering the snow gun.
